Corporate Philanthropist of the Year - November 18th, 2014

Karen Hutton proudly accepted the Corporate Philanthropist of the Year Award for 2014 on November, 18th to a sold out room of philanthropic minded individuals. Karen expanded on the idea that the DNA and the culture of HUTTON is to give and our goal in giving is to make sure that our community experiences the successes that we all experience working for such a great company. HUTTON kicks off the United Way Campaign - October 31st, 2014

Evil Knievel, an American daredevil rolled into HUTTON in the body of Ben Carroll to help us kick off our United Way Campaign. The United Way Committee, compiled of HUTTON Team members, created ample opportunities for fund raising to occur. From $5 entries to wear your favorite Halloween costumes, to a $5 Chili Lunch, a pumpkin carving contest and chances to vote on the competitions, HUTTON raised $1,340 to get it all started.

The Jordan Thomas Golf Tournament - September 30th, 2014

HUTTON believes strongly in the mission of the Jordan Thomas Foundation and for the last 4 years, we have teamed up our best golfers and many of our clients to play this annual event. Thanks to Ben Mingle and his team consisting of Phillip McCutchen (Regions Bank), Thomas Hammel (Meryl Lynch) and Eric Staton (PNC), HUTTON brought home the 1st place trophy. The Jordan Thomas Foundation, inspired by Jordan Thomas, provides prosthetics to children who are not able to obtain them due to financial limitations. Bob Elliott is an IRONMAN - September 30th, 2014

Hutton Construction, Inc.’s Bob Elliott finished the IRONMAN in 11:01:03. With coworkers and family gathered around to support him, Bob crossed the finish line in a record time for him. HUTTON is proud to have Bob Elliott on our TEAM and we were proud to be a sponsor of such an exciting event. Way to go Bob!

Proud Sponsor of the 2014 IRONMAN - September 29th, 2014

Hutton Construction, Inc. was a very proud and loud sponsor of the 2014 Little Debbie IRONMAN event here in Chattanooga. Along the city’s $10 million dollar waterfront, athletes working hard to cross the finish line had to first run by the HUTTON tent where they were greeted with cowbells, banners that fed words of encouragement and HUTTON employees and families yelling victory chants. The money raised by the IRONMAN Foundation went to benefit the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and HUTTON was glad to be a part of a great cause.

Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy Annual Golf Tournament - June 19th, 2014

HUTTON has been a proud sponsor of the Girls Leadership Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee for the last tow years. Dragon Boat Race - May 3rd, 2014

HUTTON had the honor of participating in the 2014 Dragon Boat Race to raise money for the T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital. Our 21 member Team came in 4th place out of 38 boats and won 1st place in the Corporate Giving, raising $19,000. Team Members included Debbie Scott (Drummer), Adam Levitt (Team Captain), Rachael Podhorn, Catherine Long, Karen Hutton, Matt Phillips, Scott Turk, Sam Susen, Garrett McBryde, Jake Fryar, Lizzie Glascock, Nancy Braud, Kelly Johnson, Bridget Nation, Becky Ginder, Matt Elliott, Drew Lewis, Bryan Jones, Oliver Perdomo, Brett Gregory, and Chris Griffin.

HUTTON Supports the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

TRACK 29 in Chattanooga, TN – April 24th, 2014

Young HUTTON's attend G Love & Special Sauce in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, HUTTON purchased an evening at TRACK 29, a local music venue, and enjoyed a catered dinner from Taco Mamacita.


True to the HUTTON way of giving, we have recently become supporters of the Chattanooga Heart Association. This past Saturday, Feb 1st, 2014, HUTTON gave honor to the memory of Steve Tingle by sponsoring and attending the Heart Ball at the Chattanoogan Hotel. Our community was stunned and saddened when Steve experienced a fatal heart attack last year. He made quite an impact at HUTTON with his enthusiasm, leadership, his smart business sense and his humor. Steve truly left a mark on the map of HUTTON.

Several of our Executives attended this black tie affair and were pleased to be joined by Steve’s wife and daughter, Malinda and Bailey Tingle.

Hutton Construction Inc. Hires Brian Stoker
Chattanooga, TN – November 1st, 2013

Bob Elliott, Executive VP of Development and Construction at HUTTON is pleased to announce Brian Stoker as the new Director of Construction.

Mr. Stoker has a Degree in Business, from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and has 20 years of experience in the construction industry as a Project Manager and a Director of Construction for a large, national retail, general contractor. He has managed multiple projects, including Belk Department Stores, Southaven Towne Center, The Pavilion at Port Orange, FL and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Hutton Construction Adds Director of Operations
Chattanooga, TN – August 1st, 2013

Bob Elliott, VP of Hutton Construction, Inc. is pleased to announce Trey Hall has joined the Hutton Construction Team as Director of Operations.

For the last eleven years, Trey has been employed as a Senior Project Manager, responsible for multiple projects, including educational facilities, churches, stand-alone retail boxes and in-line retail developments. Trey most recently played a key role in construction and re-development of the Catoosa County Public School system, led by the Catoosa County Board of Education and DH&W Architects. He is well liked for his ability to build and nurture relationships with clients such as JC Penny Company, Inc., March Adams and Associates Engineering and many other professionals throughout the industry.

Trey graduated from Southern Polytechnic State University, with a B.S. Degree, from the School of Architecture and Construction Management. He joins Hutton Construction with sixteen years of experience in commercial and retail construction.

Hutton Construction Adds New Estimator
Chattanooga, TN – July 31st, 2013

Bob Elliott, VP of Hutton Construction, Inc., is pleased to announce its newest Estimator, Chris Griffin.

Chris recently moved from Evans, Georgia, where he was employed by GCS Consulting as a Project Manager and Estimator. Chris previously served in the same capacity for Apex General Contracting in Augusta, Georgia, and for GM Northrup Construction in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

With over 20 years of experience in civil construction, demolition, structural steel, concrete, MEP and finishes, Chris carries to the team a National General Contractor (B) license in 23 states and several dozen municipal licenses throughout the country. He has vast experience with such retailers as Wal Mart, Sams Club, Yum Corporation, Dollar Tree, Regis, Dollar General Stores, O'Reilly Automotive, Sports Authority and Old Navy.

HUTTON Holds Company Event at the Chattanooga Zoo

HUTTON, a local Real Estate, Development and Construction company recently held a Company Appreciation event at the Chattanooga Zoo for employees and their families. Our company has grown so drastically these past two years that it seemed like a great time to stop and simply say thank you to each employee and their families for the success we experienced this past year and to show appreciation for the dedication and energy level that our employees maintain, says Karen Hutton, CEO of HUTTON.

Both children and adults took the opportunity to tour the Chattanooga zoo, ride the carousel and the camels, pet animals during the animal show and listen to the bluegrass music of Mountain Cove Bluegrass. Derek Jones Promoted to Lead the Real Estate Team of HUTTON.

Belk holds groundbreaking for new location!

Chattanooga, TN., - October 30th, 2012
Todd Smith, Project Manager and Director of Safety, Bob Elliott – VP of Construction, Robert Van Geons- EDC Director, Karen HUTTON – CEO/Owner, Paul Woodson-Salisbury Mayor, Peter Mendoza- VP Regional Store Manager, George Alexandris – VP of Development, Geoff Smith – President, Greg Edds- Chamber Chair, Lynn Kirk – Warranty/Billing Administrator and Mary Ancono – Fee Development Coordinator celebrated their new location -Wallace Commons on Klumac Road. (off interstate 1-85), October 2013.

The new Belk store will be a 7 million dollar investment in Rowan County and will bring other retailers (Michaels Craft, Shoe Carnival and Ulta Beauty). Belk will invest $7 million in the new 74,000-square-foot store, according to Tennessee-based developer HUTTON, which is building the Wallace Commons expansion and will lease space to Belk and other tenants. Geoff Smith, president of HUTTON, said Belk will continue to operate at the Salisbury Mall until it completes a moving sale prior to the opening of the new store in October.

HUTTON sponsored this event and Oliver on behalf of the Boy Scouts of America and the kick-off of the River Rocks Festival, a ten day festival that promotes family outdoor fun and environmentally friendly activities in the Tennessee Valley. Catherine N. Long joins the legal team of HUTTON

Catherine Long joined HUTTON as General Counsel in 2012. She has more than 25 years of experience in real estate and real estate finance law. Prior to joining HUTTON, she was an assistant general counsel for a Chattanooga-based real estate investment trust that owns and develops shopping centers throughout the US. Catherine was in private practice in Denver, Colorado prior to moving to Chattanooga in 2003. She is a graduate of Yale Law School and the University of Maryland, College Park.Catherine currently serves as the Vice President of CISV USA (Children's International Summer Villages) and has served in various roles in the local chapter of CISV. She is also involved in fundraising and other activities in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
