Geoff’s presence and leadership has guided HUTTON through the growth and diversification of clients, and he has set HUTTON records in establishing new client relationships, developing Big Box projects throughout the Southeast, and in leading the Dream Team. While at HUTTON, a partial list of shopping center projects overseen by Geoff includes McGowin Park, a 600,000 square foot power center in Mobile, AL, Rowan Summit and a Belk anchored center in Salisbury, NC, Patriot Cinemas in Fayetteville, NC, and the redevelopment of University Square Mall in Columbus, MS. Geoff holds a B.A. from Wake Forrest University and has 28 years of experience in retail development, including 13 years at CBL & Associates, developing open-air shopping centers. Geoff’s limitless wealth of real estate and development knowledge allows him to turn out stunning performances for our clients, which in turn earns HUTTON the opportunity to be a great partner year after year.

George Alexandris is HUTTON’s Vice President of Development. He has developed over 1 million square feet of Big Box retail projects, while cultivating relationships with other national retail clients. In addition to providing leadership to the Development Team, he also focuses his attention and leadership skills on the Big Box Store projects and Entertainment Building projects. George graduated from Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles, CA with a B.A. in Architecture. He has 18 years of experience in retail development, property acquisitions, entitlements and permitting. George is known for always finding a way to get it done and smiles the entire way there.

As Chief Financial Officer of HUTTON, Matt is responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s finance, accounting, investor relations and property management activities, with a committed focus to value creation for HUTTON clients and team members. Matt’s passion for real estate and experience in helping thoughtfully grow high-quality companies by cultivating relationships with investors, bankers and clients is well-suited to the HUTTON culture. Prior to joining HUTTON, Matt served as Chief Financial Officer at Agree Realty Corporation where he helped the company double in value over an 18-month period, and before that, Vice President of Finance at Pebblebrook Hotel Trust where he helped the company grow from a $400 million IPO to a $4.5 billion blue-chip lodging REIT. Matt holds a BBA in Finance from Eastern Michigan University and an MBA from Xavier University. He is a member the International Council of Shopping Centers and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts.

Brad is the Director of Real Estate with HUTTON’s Big Box Store projects. He is fully engaged in directing a Team of confident and energetic Real Estate Coordinators in site selection, permitting, and entitling, while hitting the pavement himself, researching and landing the perfect site location for our clients. Brad graduated from DePauw University with a B.A. in Economics and has 25 years of experience in shopping center development. Brad is a driven Team member, an exceptional leader, and a great asset to HUTTON.

As a Development Partner at HUTTON, Kevin is focused on multi-tenant and shopping center ground up and redevelopment opportunities. His passion for the business is evident in the tenacity and vision he possesses which enable him to see a multitude of projects all the way through their full life cycle. Kevin has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A., with a dual concentration in Real Estate Finance and Real Estate Development, from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. He has over a decade of experience in the commercial real estate industry and brings a well-rounded approach to the development business. Kevin’s financial acumen, analytical mindset and client focus, as well as his unwavering work ethic, make him a key member of the HUTTON Team.

Matt joined the HUTTON Team in April of 2013. He has more than 10 years of experience in Real Estate Development and has developed over 3,000,000 sq. ft. of retail projects throughout the Southeast and Midwest. He is very passionate about HUTTON, where he oversees the team of Real Estate & Development, responsible for developing 36 national grocery market projects over the course of the last 24 months. Matt graduated from Clemson University with a B.A. and a Masters of Real Estate Development. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional.

Buddy performs a comprehensive and important task at HUTTON, transitioning our Team members into the best seat on the bus in the areas of Real Estate, Development and Construction. As a Development Partner for HUTTON’s Shopping Center Team, Jamey is responsible for sourcing and overseeing new development opportunities for HUTTON, featuring Dick’s Sporting Goods, TJ Maxx, Ross Dress for Less, Hobby Lobby, and PetSmart. Jamey graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Business Administration and has 19 years of experience in Retail Development. Prior to joining HUTTON in July 2014, Jamey spent 14 years leasing and developing open air shopping centers for CBL & Associates. Jamey’s passion for retail development and his dedication to client relationships make him a valued asset to the HUTTON Team.

Ben Harper joined HUTTON as Senior Real Estate Counsel in 2015 and was promoted to General Counsel in 2016. Ben has more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate development. He has deep experience with all legal aspects of retail real estate development, including acquisitions, dispositions, small shop leasing, anchor tenant, Big Box leasing, REAs, outparcel leasing and sales. Prior to joining HUTTON, he was an attorney with Husch Blackwell LLP and worked as outside counsel to a public real estate investment trust that owns and develops shopping centers throughout the US, among other real estate development and corporate clients. Ben leads a busy legal team of 4 attorneys and 6 paralegals, and support staff that closes hundreds of acquisitions, loans, and sales each year. The legal team also handles leases, REAs, development agreements, and entitlement issues for HUTTON’s projects across the country. He is a graduate of both the University of Georgia School of Law and Covenant College.

Alan’s communication style and engaging presence makes him a perfect choice to lead HUTTON’s Multi-Tenant Real Estate Team in site selection, contract negotiations, and nurturing our client relationships. Alan graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.A. in Real Estate and Finance Management. He has 12 years of experience in developing and leasing new and existing retail centers, out parcel sales, acquisition, and financial analysis of retail assets. He has achieved over one million square feet of leases and contracts. Alan clearly understands HUTTON culture, that our clients are at the forefront of every decision we make.

Todd joined the HUTTON team in January 2015 as a Development Project Manager where Todd’s team successfully completed the development of 7 of our 22 grocery markets delivered in 12 months across the Southeast. Todd was promoted to Director of Development in January 2016 where he oversees a tenacious team of project managers responsible for designing and permitting 90 freestanding developments annually. Todd graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.S. in Construction Management and has over 12 years of experience in Commercial Construction and Development projects that range from Education, Entertainment, Gaming, Industrial, Shopping Center, and Big Box Retail.

Mason Thornburg, Senior Director of Finance, oversees and manages the company’s real estate finance team. Mason handles the day to day financial operations at HUTTON, facilitating lender relationships, property loan closings, investor equity, debt, cash management, and treasury operations. With over 12 years of finance and treasury knowledge, Mason brings financial experience that helps the Hutton team get the targeted results it is looking for. Mason’s passion and work ethic for what he does helps us get the job done right and timely. Mason earned his Bachelors and Master’s degree in Business from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Joel Ballard, with 30 years of Property Management experience, managed 8 million square feet at any given time. Currently at HUTTON, he oversees the relationship and property management of 200 properties across 36 states. Though daunting to most, this is the platform that HUTTON and our personnel bring to our properties and clients. Our knowledge and experience, ability to relate to their clients, and the anticipation of their needs is the key to HUTTON’s success. We are available 24/7. Joel’s experience managing retail properties includes power centers, malls, neighborhood strip centers, grocery stores, and mixed-use life style developments. HUTTON has two decades of experience positioning commercial real estate, and maximizing its valued relationships with tenants, leasing, investors, and is aligned with strategic alliances to achieve the best results for its properties and clients.

As Vice President of Operations, Jennifer is responsible for building and strengthening the company’s positions in single, multi-tenant, and shopping center developments, while leading the team members of HUTTON and developing strong client relationships. She will be managing the day-to-day operations across the HUTTON Real Estate, Development, Finance, Legal, and Management teams as well as, improving HUTTON as a strategic business partner and industry leader. Jennifer has been involved with and is passionate about real estate development for more than 18 years. She began her career as a member of the HUTTON team in 1999 and built relationships and processes that set the framework for the continued growth. Most recently, she has been with CBL Properties for eleven years, and as their Senior Director of Development, Jennifer was responsible for implementing the company’s new development strategy and expanding the company’s retail and mixed-use developments throughout their portfolio. Jennifer is a 1999 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in civil engineering, and she earned an MBA in finance from Tulane University in 2014.

Tyler returns to his roots on the sale side of business as Director of Dispositions at HUTTON having worked in brokerage, dispositions, acquisitions, and development. Tyler has a broad footing in commercial real estate and brings over 13 years of experience to the team. Tyler graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Finance, has earned the CCIM designation and holds brokerage licenses in two states. His passion for commercial real estate, unrelenting drive to find and make deals combined with an eye for numbers is the foundation to build and lead a team at HUTTON.

After representing HUTTON as an outside attorney, Pete Johnson came in-house as its Senior Counsel in 2014. Pete has primarily focused on projects generated through preferred developer programs with retailers ranging in size from grocery anchored shopping centers to single tenant properties. Prior to coming to HUTTON, he practiced in the areas of real estate and construction transactions and litigation with law firms in Tennessee and Georgia. He was the General Counsel for a real estate development and construction company and has served as an Assistant District Attorney and Magistrate. Pete obtained his Bachelor’s degree in History from Covenant College and his Juris Doctorate from Mercer University.
